I'm not really familiar with the design but I'm reading up on it as we speak/type. I'm not a traditionalist so I see no inherent "cheapening" of the playing experience. And as often as I'm out of tune (when I do play that is) I should probably consider such a mechanism. Reading...

Looks to me to be a decent tool for guitarists who aren't very experimental and want to play nothing but rhythm. Looks like it takes some "feel" away from the playing experience. Maybe it would just take some time to get used to, but the little things we do to squeeze tremelo out of our guitars are part of what helps me bond with a guitar.

It would have its uses, but I definitly wouldn't recommend it for someone just learning or for an upper level guitarist. It seems like it would be just right for "happily moderate" guitarists, meaning guitarists that are happy with their level of experience, but don't want to mess with fine-tuning their skills (or guitar).

Just my humble opinion, based solely on the videos on their website.

I really wonder about sustain. String-life seems like it would also be an issue. Strings naturally lose some elasticity as they age. That would seem to switch your focus from tuning the strings to tuning the bridge as the strings age, wouldn't it?

Hey Monte!

I think I agree with your post. The more I'm reading up on it the more I question it. We're on the same page as far as string life. I've got to go back and review the videos.

(By the way, glad to see you around.)

Good to be around.

I would just like to see a review by an Average Joe. It's hard to find one. They seem to be spending a lot of money to buy Google searches. That always raises questions for me.

It might be neat to try one on a bass. Billy Sheehan is in a YouTube video talking about it.
