Default Next, Next Project

OK, so, I think I'm up to about 12 projects I want to do and the Stanleycaster is obviously at the top of my list but, eventually, I'd like to try my hand at building a Danelectro Convertible type guitar, but with a few twists. I want a Tele bridge and Tele control panel but in a different location. Something like this:

Sorry my photoshop skillz aren't that good.

I might not be that great with a router but I dang sure can cut plywood and masonite. I wonder where one gets blue sparkle masonite?

I have a neck off a really cheapie acoustic electric laying around...

I use to have a dano convert. It was a great sounding guitar, but the bridge alwaws kept moving on it. I could of pinned or glued it down. I was afraid I would lose out on intonation when changeing strings, so, I got rid of it. Remember if you are going to build it the Dano way, you have to use green treated plywood.
The converts were a nice sounding guitar.

Yeah, I missed out on one a couple years ago that was a smoking deal but I had no money to spend on guitars at the time. I didn't know that about the treated plywood. I really like the sound of the convertibles. Nice, "open" sound.

Yea, they use to use green treated plywood, I wonder if it was the green treated that gave it it's tone.

I had always liked the controls that Dano had on the Convert.

I always thought that the concentric controls were neat.
I've wanted to do a Dano project for a while.

Yeah, I think it would be really neat. Nice guitar, GG! I bet she sounds great.

I like the concentric controls too. The Tele controls are nice too. I just kind of like the Tele controls on a guitar of this kind and the wierd location set it apart from the crowd. I like to be different and keep people guessing...
